Canon PowerShot A700

Canon, one of the leading digital camera manufacturers, has launched the pocket camera PowerShot A700. This 6 Mpixels camera is equipped with a 6x optical zoom lens and 4x digital zoom. Macro enthusiast will enjoy shooting objects at a distance of only 1 cm. With ISO sensitivity up to ISO 800 and an optional conversion lens, this camera is a high performance PowerShot A series for the creative pocket photographer. However, the 2.5 inch screen might pose a problem as the camera only uses 2 AA batteries. The screen might drain the batteries quickly, posing a problem for underwater photographers. Datascrip, the sole authorized distributor of Canon digital cameras in Indonesia, has mentioned in their latest photo-club-bulletin that this camera will be available in April 2006. By: Richard Harlan
