Kapal Selam Dive Club is proud to announce that three of its members have won prizes in the elite Wakatobi Underwater Photo Competition this month.
Muljadi Kartarahardja won the Best Photograph award,
Muljadi Pinneng Sulungbudi won First Prize for Macro/Close-Up Category and
Richard Harlan won Third Prize, also for Macro/Close-Up Category. Big congratulations to all winners.
The Wakatobi Underwater Photo Competition took place on 11th to 16th December 2007 and was organized by Wakatobi Regency (PEMDA Kabupaten Wakatobi). This is an annual event organised to help boost the tourism industry in the area, particularly related to the scuba diving activities. Contestants only needed to pay for airfare, accommodation and dives are funded by the organizer, sponsored by the local government and Department of Tourism and Culture.
The First Prize winner received a trophy from the Minister of Marine and Fisheries, from Minister of Culture and Tourism and from Bupati (Regent) of Wakatobi , priority and facilities to join the international scale contest which will be held in 2008.
