DIVING TRIP : Alor Archipelago
6 Days/5 Nights Alor Diving Adventure

13/08-Day One: Arrival at Alor Airport (L,D)
Depart from Kupang. Arrival in “Mali” Airport by Merpati. Our representative will be flying with you ready to escort you to the hotel for immediate check-in. After a short time preparing personal diving euipment, we depart to the dive boat to begin diving. Take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel, make yourself comfortable. Two or three dives are scheduled for our first day including a checkout dive to check dive and camera equipment.

13/08-Still Day One: Pura Island
Welcome to some world class dives off of Pura Island, just west of the main island of Alor, so pristine and untouched. This area offers some truly amazing sites of walls and geographically unique slopes of boulders and canyons. These dive sites have an unparalleled concentration of marine biodiversity not seen elsewhere.
Pura Island, so pristine and untouched is located in the center of the Pantar Strait and is known for its huge currents, this is where Donovan’s expertise comes into play. Here, safety will be priority number one while giving you a diving experience you will remember forever.
Pura island is ringed with white sand beaches, black volcanic beaches and ancient lava flow coastlines. The islands really are a place of immense natural beauty both above and below the water. The Alor Archipelago is currently being considered by the Indonesian government for National Park status, actually, the local government of Alor has already granted the area a marine Park status. Some of the dive sites there are “Paradise Point”, “Shark’s Galore” “Mike’s Delight” and “The Boardroom”.

14/08-Day Two: Ternate Island(B, L, D)
Ternate Island is home to some amazing wall dives that rival any in the world. There are a few dive spots that should not be missed like “The Edge”, “Babylon” and “The Arch”. This is also a great opportunity to dive the Northern part of the Alor archipelago. Night dives are planned for the hard core divers. Donovan has a portfolio of around ten night diving locations so there’s something for everyone.

15/08-Day Three: South Pantar - Muck Diving at it’s BEST(Optional depending on the specific needs of the group)(B, L, D)
Larry Smith(R.I.P.) called this secluded Bay, “the best of the best in Muck”. Larry, after diving throughout Indonesia at the premier muck locations, listed this site as absolutely fantastic. Donovan has dived together with Larry here many times and for the dedicated muck diver, this is real paradise. This is also a great opportunity to dive the Southern part of the Alor archipelago where one of the best dives ever is found, “The Cathedral”. Due to the currents, this dive must be timed perfectly and when it’s done right could be the highlight of your Alor diving adventure.

16/08-Day Four: Kepa Island(B, L, D)
Alor’s most famous dive awaits us at “Kal’s Dream” where the BIG fish meet. Giant Dog Tooth Tuna, Napoleon Wrasse, hundreds of Barracuda, Big Eyed Jack, Giant Trevally and Rainbow Runners parade around this unique sea mount feeding in the plankton rich waters created by updrafts of current. A chance meeting with Sunfish, Eagle Rays, Hammerheads and Mantas is also possible here. A wide angled photographer’s dream where literally hundreds of schooling fishes congregate in a kaleidoscope of fish and fins. Definitely one of the top dive sites of Alor.

17/08-Day Five: Dive sites Re-visited(B, L, D)
This is our chance to re-visit any of the diving locations that you couldn’t get enough of.

18/08-Day Six: Alor Island (B)
After breakfast, prepare for disembarkation. Be ready to leave the hotel and you will be transferred to Mali Airport for your next destination. Your diving journey has ended and we shall look forward to welcoming you diving again.

Itinerary is subject to change due to current, tide and weather(don’t worry, August is one of the best times to dive this part of Indonesia).

How to get there:
There are connecting flights from Jakarta and Denpasar via Kupang ongoing to Alor. Flight details will be posted later.
