Komodo LOB 2007 - 8d/7n with SEA SAFARI

Day 1 : Denpasar – Labuan bajo (L,D,S)

Flight from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo by GT Air. Upon arrival In Labuan Bajo airport, our representative will pick you up and transfer to embark Sea Safari boat. Lunch will be served onboard before we start cruising to diving destination.
Check dive at North Sebayor Kecil and night dive in South Sebayor Kecil. Dinner and coffee time will be served in between the dives. At night, depart to Nusa Kode.

Day 2 : Nusa Kode (B,L,D,S)

Arrive in Nusa Kode early in the morning, breakfast, start diving. Dive sites are probably very famous in Komodo like ‘Cannibal Rock’, ‘ Wall of Texas’,

‘Banana Island’, and ‘ Torpedo Alley’ . Lunch and dinner will be served in between the dives. Night dive will be offered before dinner. This three meter pinnacle buried in the deep bay between these two island is covering with weird critters and coral garden on every inches of this area. This will include frog fish, ornate ghost pipefish, flying gunard, a tons of nudibranchs, pigmy seahorse, bluering octopus, zebra crab and the coleman shrimp ( onli living with the toxic sea urchin), marble Torpedo Ray. And many more to see. The ‘real home’ for ‘real critters’. Many dive sites around this bay will gurantee to make divers ‘addicted’.

Day 3 : Toro Longkoi / Padar / Lohoksera (B,L,D,S)

Arrive in Toro Longkoi. Here, one of the well-known dive sites is ‘Manta Ale’, located in the south west of Komodo. This is a home to famous manta cleaning station. This area is excellent wide-angle opportunity as the topography of this island is facing towards the wide-open Indian Ocean. The three rock between this deep bay is all covered by multicolor of soft coral and hard coral garden, leather coral, shark and number of large fish with many different species such as Jack, Tuna, Napoleon, Barracuda, and many other schools of fish. During the season of October – November, golden opportunity to snorkel and dive with Manta as they circle around you. This site is entitled with the most active area in Komodo. Lunch will be served onboard.

Next, will be in Padar, Pillarsteen also known as ‘Pillar Rock’. This site is identified by a tiny pinnacle, just off the southern tip of small island east of Padar’s souther point. In honor to its designation on our old Dutch map. There are good caves at about 40 meters.Visibility averaged 10-12 meters.

Also, night dive in Lohoksera. After night dive and dinner, we proceed to another island, Sangeang.

Day 4 : Sangeang / Banta (B,L,D,S)

The boat arrives early in the stunning volcanic island, Sangeang. Sea Safari welcomes you to enjoy the half days of diving at the one of the best dive site in the island. This island is located in the North East Coast of Sumbawa main island. Some of the diving location such as ‘Black River’, and ‘Bubble Maker’ are easily access for all level both beginner and expert diver as the reef is starting from plat shallow reef and the wall drop down to 20-30 meter deep. Full of colorful coral reef, multicolor cronoids, seafan, the amazing ornate ghost, pipe fish,pigmy seahorse and many different type of nudibranchs has made this black sandy bottom become their home. Lunch will be served onboard while the boat sailing toward to Banta Island which is located in the North Coast between East Sumbawa and the North West of Komodo Island for another afternoon and night dive. Some best dive sites are drop off in the west, east, as well as GPS Point.

Day 5 : Gili Lawa Laut / Gili Lawa Darat (B,L,D,S)

Gili Lawa is located on the northern coast of Komodo Island. A few best dive site on this island will include ‘Crystal Bomie’ and ‘GPS Point’ Dive site is beautifully covered by the best quality of marine life both coral and fish. This place is well-known as the place where Pigmy Seahorse (hippocampus Bargibanti) were first founded. This a great opportunity to see big fish such as sharks, groupers, octopuses, schools of batfish,mantas and many more. Season of October-November will be the aggregating time (mating season).We could also go out for the muck dive of searching for Mandarin Fish (synchiropus Spendidus) inside the bay where it is often found.

Day 6 : Komodo National Park (B,L,D,S)

We will visit islands of a world class diving such as Tatawa Besar, Tatawa Kecil, Batu Bolong. Visibility average from 10-30 m, usually quite good. Reef type is sloping reed, takas and walls. You would probably spot whale sharks, mantas, great underwater formations, profusion of interesting invertebrates. Between lunch and dinner, we will offer as many dive as possible. Cruising through this spectacular area, both above water and below will prove an unforgettable diving experience. Night dive is offered in ‘Pink Beach’.

Day 7 : Komodo National Park (B,L,D,S)

Boat arrives in the morning in the famous Komodo Island that features the world’s most unusual wildlife attraction. A park ranger will escort you across the island ( about 4,5 km there and back ) to a viewing spot to safely watch the “ Komodo Dragons” at very close range. After this breathtaking encounter with the species from the Jurassic Age, we shall have lunch onboard. You will spend the remainder of the diving day in Komodo area. After trekking, you would probably have 2 more dives in the near area of Komodo National Park. One of the best dive sites, Karang Makassar is usually a place to spot Manta Rays, if you are lucky enough.

Day 8 : Labuan Bajo – Denpasar (B)

Breakfast onboard, You will be picked up by our representative and transfer to Labuan Bajo Airport to catch flight back to Denpasar with GT Air. This day is considered the disembarkation Sea Safari boat. Trip ends but memories lives on.
